Spring Road Races

Spring Chicken and Roy Thame Cup Event Details

On 11 March 2017 our annual open road races, the Roy Thame Cup & Spring Chicken Road Races will be held on a rolling circuit in the Claydon's in Buckinghamshire. With luck this 29th edition of the popular early season event (& for many years the previous incarnation the Circuit of Cublington making it 40 years) will be blessed with fair Spring weather as has been the case on so many previous occasions.

Two races take place during the day: the Spring Chicken RR starts at 09:30 and is for 3rd & 4th category riders over 77km (3 laps). The Roy Thame Cup starts at 13:30 and is for Elite, 1st & 2nd cats over a distance of 125km (5 laps). The entry fee is £20 in advance for each event or £25 if you enter on the day or after the closing date. However as typically we get over 200 entries over both events EOL is extremely limited so enter before the closing date to be considered!

Please note that for the Roy Thame Cup I will accept team of max 6 riders only, and for the Spring Chicken RR a max of 4 riders per team or club. It's up to you to decide who is in that team! The Spring Chicken RR also has priority entry to Juniors and members of clubs affiliated to the Central Road Race League (still with max 4 per club!).

HQ location for the above races:

Royal Latin School,
Brookfield Lane,
MK18 1AX.
