The Workshop, held on Monday 27th September at 20.00 comprises a brief overview of Sports Psychology, an introduction to mental toughness (what it is, how to find it, how to keep it), and a question and answer session at the end.
What is mental toughness? Is it being able to stay confident even though your form hasn’t arrived when needed?; Is it being able to keep your cool when you watch a winning break go up the road, knowing that you weren’t paying attention?; Is it maintaining your training programme despite a heavy daily workload?; Is it about looking for the challenges in cycling, and only fighting the ‘battles’ that are worth fighting?
Mental Toughness can mean different things to different people. So, we are all mentally tough or resilient in different ways (perhaps without realising it).
This free workshop will help you to gain an increased understanding of your mental toughness, and include short talks and practical exercises to allow you tofind, improve, and keep your mental toughness.
The workshop will be held on Monday 27 September 2010 at 20.00 at the Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club clubroom in Nash Mills.
