New Club Website

As you have probably noticed the club has a new website.

The club has actually been online since about 2001 and the website has gone through a number of updates to get to its current form.  The latest version came about from a desire to simplify our content and add a better events calendar. The main changes on the site are:

  • Simplified navigation
  • A new events calendar and filterable listing to help you find out what is going on
  • A better way of sharing stories to replace the club's old printed newsletter.  Provided by the News pages
  • A full history of the club from its beginnings in 1933.  This one is going to be a work in progress as we tap the archives
  • Details of the club champions and championships. Again a work in progress
  • Finally, a much improved editing system to make it easier to maintainence team

We think we succeeded in most of our goals and although we might continue to tweek the site a bit, we now have a platform to go forward with for the next few years.

If you can help with backfilling any infomation about the history or previous champions then contact your editors for 2010, the new webmaster, Andy Murray, backed up by the racing secretary, Paul Thomson.  Site support will come from Simon Hemington at web design company, The Boffin Lab, who have generously given their time to create the new site.

The Boffin Lab is a new venture from club members Simon Hemington and Steve Oglesby. Their mission is to design and build the best websites and bespoke applications.  If you like what you see and you want to talk to them further then visit them at http://www.theboffinlab.com.

Hope you enjoy your cycling in 2010. Your retiring webmaster,
Simon
