26 January saw the club's 80th annual dinner and dance, with the clubs 2012 award winners given their respective trophies and medals.
Guests and members were warmly welcomed by the Club President Bob Clark, who in particular singled out welcoming Gavin Atkins who is still recovering from a horrific accident last October and still spend every week in hospital, only since Christmas managing to venture home for respite from his long recovery process.

To drown our sorrows of horrible dark nights I've planned a trip to Tring Brewery to raise our spirits on Wednesday 9th November. Sorry it's a school night but I couldn't get any other night, all booked up!
There are currently 16 riders - 15 from the club - riding around the alps this week on a trip organised by Tony Mullen.
In between some riding of the bike and eating & drinking I thought I'd do a little report each day - like a blog - on the club forum.
Click the link to see it (note I have been a little verbose so they are a bit long!): www.hemelcycling.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1133
The Event web page has been opened up. Come back regualrly for updates as I intend to update the list of entrants as I get them.

I should point out that I will be away for a week so updates may be after that!

This Sunday (26 June) sees the first of the clubs open time trials, a 25 mile event held on the F13 course based upon the A41 between Bicester and Aylesbury.
A smallish field but good quality and a good turnout of Hemel riders - 13. A record 5 Hemel women ride too - I am fairly certain we have never had such a large turnout from the Hemel girls before (and a few are missing)!
The following was sent out earlier this week as a newsletter to all who have signed up for it - if you didn't get it but want it then click on the big button on the right hand side of the home page now!

Easter Sunday saw a group of 9 intrepid Hemel triathletes venture out to one of the first triathlons of the season at Bedford.
Brilliant weather brought out some brilliant performances and fun was had by all.
