Re: Sunday Club Rides 6th May

Don't know if anyone has volunteered for the C Ride leader but I'll do it if not. We can have a Murray-fest tomorrow.

Re: Spring Chicken race

Thanks Bob, it's appreciated. Would be great to see a report plus the results and maybe some quotes from riders who have responded positively to the event. Maybe some images if any are available. As well as saying this is what we do, how about this is how well we did it?!! Next is the Sid Latchford ...

Spring Chicken race

One of the biggest showcase events the club runs and it's not even on the front page of the website. I know lots of people also use the Facebook page to view content, but I bet a lot of people do visit the website, including lots of non club members, to see what we're all about and maybe even join. ...

Harp Hilly 2018

Did no Hemel riders take part in the Harp Hilly this year? I had it in my heed that it was later in the month or even early Feb, so I did the club run instead. Silly me!

Bike Geometry

Anyone pondering a new bike in the not too distant future will find this site really, really useful as a way to compare geometries of different bikes.

Typical Club Rides

Hi all For anyone interested, here are some of our typical 'C' group club ride routes. The the route for the Hitchin ride that we've done in the last couple of weeks: https://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_4520340.html Another one that's a close relation: https://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_46406...

Re: What are we doing wrong?

Well, that's two percent of the club's membership who've expressed an opinion here. Wonder what the other 98% thinks. Anyone...?

Re: What are we doing wrong?

Interesting response. I know we do a lot of things right in the club and praise should be given to all who contribute to make it successful. What I'm questioning really is what made the members of Berkhamsted and other smaller village clubs, who were clearly interested in joining a club before their...

What are we doing wrong?

I was looking at the websites for other local clubs and saw that Berkhamsted - a very young club - posted a picture of the start of a recent club run. I counted at least 35 people, not to mention the riders out of the view of the camera. Maybe this has been asked before, but what are they doing that...

Club Run Routes

Still a lack of club run routes posted on the website. I thought it was agreed at the AGM that the forum was to be the primary place for club run routes to be listed. Post them on Facebook as well by all means, but if that ends up being the only place they're listed, at least make the club's Faceboo...

Re: Road names linked to cycling

How about Frame Lane in Doseley, Telford? There's a Hub Street in Los Angeles. There's also Tyre Road in a place called Pigeon in Michigan. How about we see if we can build a bike out of related road names? Just found this one: Grip Road, Sedro-Woolley, Washington, United States. And - yes, it's a b...

Re: club runs and lack of HHCC representation

Thanks chaps for the positive response - well two of you anyway! I was hoping this could give us more detailed profile of club members' needs particularly with respect to the Sunday rides, but it may be useful to ask some broader questions of the club's members, the vast majority of who I don't know...

club runs and lack of HHCC representation

There's been some rather heated discussions of late regarding club runs. One topic is why are the club runs so poorly attended particularly by HHCC club members. If we can't attract our own club members, we'll struggle to attract new riders from outside the club. I have no idea why we can't get more...
