Chilterns as Cycle Gateway

Postby vernaburgess » Fri Jul 05, 2013 6:48 pm

Organised easy cycling rides (various dates over summer), some are starting from Berkhamsted, generally late on a Saturday afternoon and suitable for all including children. The organisers say:

The CTC are delighted to be the leading partner for a Local Sustainable Transport Fund project aimed to encourage more visitors to travel to the Chilterns by rail and to increase cycling in general within the Chilterns as an alternative to the car. The project, Cycle Chilterns, is focusing on three main gateways which includes Berkhamsted and Tring. As a result local rides are being organised.

These rides are great for families, people getting back into cycling or just those people who prefer to ride in a group. The rides will be led by qualified and experienced ride leaders that cater to the needs of the group so no riders are left behind.

A program of led rides will be starting at the end of June. The rides are free but booking is essential as spaces are limited. Contact ride leader Ian Taylor for more details or to book your place. Full ride details and routes are available below:
