Race wheels

Postby vernaburgess » Thu Jan 30, 2014 1:05 pm

I posted on the facebook page a while back.......

Decided not to go with the Flo wheels from US - bit risky for repairs and spares plus no one seemed to know the import duty obligation.

So still in the market for race wheels - primarily for Stephen on his Cervelo S2. He currently has Grammo Viper 50c wheels - like in this link but clincher:
http://grammo-bici.com/ProductDesc.aspx ... =Viper-50T
These came with the bike at purchase and I think are a decent set of wheels, weighing 1550g for the set.

Do I need to upgrade - to like the Zipp 404 ?????

Am I better off saving up for a new bike for him ?
He will be mainly doing TT and triathlon
Views and comments very welcome.

Cheers Verna

I would say they are reasonably decent wheels, and a Cervélo S2 a fairly decent all-around bike. You will have to look for a significant upgrade to make it much better.

I assume he has tribars, skinsuit/trisuit and aero helmet? Has he had someone look at his position on the bike to make sure he is optomised on it?

I agree.

A good bike and reasonable wheels to faster wheels will make a marginal difference.
An ok position to a great position will make a large difference.

If you can afford it go here.

Otherwise, ask Gavin to take a look.
