Xcross : Racing Schedule for the rest of 12/13 Season

Postby NZxcross » Mon Oct 22, 2012 9:05 pm

Hi all,

Post your race dates/meetings in here for the rest of the season. I mapped mine out last weekend. Had a busy night of maintenance getting rid of half of Didcot out of my gear, so will post the remainder soon!!

I’m definitely going to the meeting @ A5 Rangers Cyclo-Cross/Central League Round 5 on Saturday. I’m going to give the Rapha super cross meeting a miss. I went on the website & just couldn’t really get the jist of it.

So I’m planning on going over & doing the following event:
STFC RAL Cyclo-Cross/Wessex League, Harwell, Didcot, OX11 0QX
Didcot, do I really need to venture back there after last weekend. Sucker for punishment!!!

Cheers Rico

Hi all, as promised below is my proposed schedule for the remainder of the '12 season.

November 4th
Beeline Cycles Cross/Wessex League - (Oxford)
London League Round 7/Sussex League Round 2 - (Brighton)
Haven't decided yet but leaning towards the Wessex round

November 10th
St. Ives CC Cyclo-Cross/Eastern League Round 9 - (Huntingdon)
November 11th
Boston Wheelers Cross/Lincolnshire League Round 8 - (Woodhall Spa)

November 17th
SRAM Notts & Derby League Round 9 - (Nottingham)
November 18th
Icknield RC Cyclo-Cross/Central League Round 6 - (Luton)

November 24th
Redgrave Cyclo-Cross/Eastern League Round 11 - (Redgrave)
November 25th
Beds RC Cyclo-Cross/Central League Round 7 - (Bedford)

December 2nd
Didcot Phoenix Cyclo-Cross/Central League Round 8 - (Reading)

December 9th
Giant Cross/Western League Round 10 - (Bristol)

December 16th
Twickenham CC Cyclo-Cross/Central League Round 9 - (Hillingdon)

As you can see there is a fair bit of travelling going to happen over the next 6odd weeks. It was a bit hard figuring out some of the meetings due to the National Series/Regional champs going on. For me, doing a couple of double headers won't hurt as what’s the difference when you are only fighting for 30th odd place?? I would rather focus on getting experience & putting in a good foundation for next year when I move into the 'V' category.

What’s your plans?

Wow! - that's a serious list of races mate - you'll certainly gain plenty of experience in a short period of time.

It always seems a shame to me that the 'cross season is so short - it's almost over before it's started - unless of course I can still persuade you to ride the Nationals...

I wonder how much there would be for a Summer 'Cross evening league???

I'll post my schedule up shortly.

You should put your names forward for the Inter Area teams on Nov 11th as well. Milton Keynes hosted again I think.

Hi Simon,

Sorry for not emailing you back, but I guess that you can figure out that my forum access has been sorted. Thanks heaps.

Yeah I had a look at the team + central individual champs on the calendar. I got a little scared as my form isn't up to that standard. I want to keep my motivation going strong as I'm very happy to keep to the club events. I think they are at my level at the moment to be fair. Second, I decided not to join BC this year. There wasn't enough in it for me. Will do in '13.

Hence why I've selected club events on National/champs days elsewhere. Will there be any problems entering the league events that I have listed since I'm not from some of those areas?? Any help would be appreciated as it would save a fairly long embarrassing drive home with Stace in my ear!!

I had considered the Inter-Area Champs but I'm leading the Club ride that day - I've also got friends for dinner the night before so I not not be at my best...

Edit: Just had it pointed out that the Hillingdon round clashes with the Christmas Lunch...

...now let me see, 60 minutes thrashing 'round a windswept ex-council tip in the pouring rain or 3 hours supping ale and stuffing my face with turkey and Christmas pud next to a roaring log fire - decisions, decisions... :?
