2014 Bedford Sprint Triathlon 15 June

Postby Ian Huntingford » Tue Jun 17, 2014 11:20 am

400m pool swim; 25K quite hilly bike; 5k fairly flat run.

163 competitors on a cool, slightly breezy morning.

1st -- 01:02:40 Phil Melling
2nd - 01:06:07 Jonathan Hoggett

19th - 01:14:44 Martyn Wisken (2nd in age 40-44)
28th - 01:19:08 Ian Huntingford (1st in age 55-59)
42nd - 01:21:31 Johnny Broom (9th in age 45-49)
71st - 01:21:31 Janusz Rockicki (6th in age 30-34)

Good to have four HHCC triathletes participating and all puting in decent performances. Nice to meet Janusz for the first time. By pure chance, we racked alongside one another and also came into T1 at the same time.

Next Bedford Sprint is 5th Oct.

Next events for me are two Big Cow Sprints at Emberton on consecutive Sundays, 29th June and 6th July, the latter being the National Champs. Hope to see some other Hemelites there.

Ian

Well done Ian and Martin - great to get two top 3 placings in your AG.

I will see you Ian at Emberton on 6th July. However I am at Hyde Park on the 4th for Black Sabbath/Motorhead/Soundgarden/Faith No More/Wolfmother etc. so my performance will depend on how much I can limit my alcohol intake ....

All the best,

Mike

Thanks Mike.

I was very tempted by Black Sabbath et al myself but I'm keen to get a reasonable result at the National Sprint Champs, so can't afford to be anything less than 100% sober and well rested on the Sunday. I know your priorities lie with IM again this year anyway; but I'm sure you'll finish well ahead of me even in a post-Sabbath state.

Look forward to catching up with you at Emberton.

Ian
