Youth (U16) - Weekly Bovingdon Flyer Training (Weds)
Weekly training and coach led racing on the 680m Bovingdon Flyer circuit
New for 2018, HHCC are running a weekly youth coached session on the new Bovingdon Flyer circuit. The sessions aim to be a fun introduction to circuit riding and racing for 8 -15 year olds, starting in the first few weeks with basic safe group riding skills and progressing on to mini-races. The sessions will be run by British Cycling qualified coaches.
We're going to try to build up a youth squad and riders will get the chance to race for the Hemel in local events. We hope to build up the team as the season progresses. So, if you're from the Hemel, Berkhamsted, Amersham or Chesham area and have struggled to get a Slipstreamers place then give us a go.
When and where
Sessions will run weekly from May 16th to August on Wednesday nights with sign on at 6:45. Sessions start at 7 pm and last approximately 90 minutes with a good mix of skills, training and mini races.
Sessions will be held on the new shorter Flyer circuit When you get up to the airfield, head around to the right and down the main runway where you'll find the new Flyer Circuit.
What bike will I need?
These sessions are suitable to all bikes although a road bikes or cyclo-cross bike would be best, particularly if you want to race. Please come along with a bike in good working order, don't forget your helmet and remember a drink.
What age can come?
We are aiming these sessions at youth riders. So 8-15 year olds. All standards are welcome and you'll be riding with others of similar fitness.
