It was a decent morning for the hill climb, the overcast sky slowly giving way to a clear blue sky. A small but select group gathered in the layby for the start. The lower cattle grid was inspected first thing as one of the lower bars is collapsing in the middle but is not too bad towards the edge of the road. A group of riders on the Beacon bend cheered the contestants on their way to the finish line. First finisher was Phil with his ferocious pedalling style helping him finish a few seconds ahead of John to be the fastest Hemel man. Alan was second across the line and fastest person on the day in a very fast time. Heidi was third across the line and fastest Hemel woman, Karine was fastest woman. Tom completed the course on his cargo bike with music blaring out as he passed the timekeeper, he was fastest cargo bike of the day and also gets the "prize" for best entertainment value. John was the fastest Hemel Vet on the day - everyone was a winner. Disappointing that there was so few who took the start but it was still an enjoyable morning. The view at the finish for the timekeeper must be up there with best. Thanks to Annette for starting the riders and Nigel for pointing me in the direction of where he had stored his box of tricks in the Club room. This was the last HHCC TT of the year but you only have to wait 2 weeks for the HHCC Cyclo X event in Gadebridge Park which Graham is organising.

See you in April for the Sid Hilly (Provisional date 2nd April) and the Club 10's which will recommence in mid-April.
