Gravel Rides

We get together at least once a month and explore the local bridleways and quiet lanes on gravel bikes.  We've typically started from HHCC Club House in Red Lion Lane and ridden for three / four hours, sometimes with a café stop, covering distances of 35-70km at a steady pace. 

We've made it partially down the Ridgeway to the West and over to Welwyn, mostly off-road.  Both directions, we've found tracks that are very rideable for hardtails, gravel and CX bikes.

HHCC started gravel rides as a club in 2023, and so far, it's been great! We've added some gravel sportives into the mix and have more planned for 2026.  So far we've explored Kent, Essex, Sherwood Forest, Salisbury Plain, the Ridgeway, the South Downs, Cannock Chase, North Wales and even bits of Greece.
